MEET JODY
Hello! My name is Jody Roper and I am one of your Northglenn City Council representatives for Ward 4.
I grew up in Brighton, CO and have lived in Northglenn since 2004, when my wife, Tina, and I bought our first home in Northglenn's Ward 2. Then, in 2015, we moved to our current home in Northglenn's Ward 4.
We have two children, Brady and Emmy - who both attended The Studio School Elementary, and I am currently an Assistant Principal at Thunder Vista P-8
in the Adams 12 Five Star School District.
My love for learning extends beyond the schools I have worked for - or the children and staff I have served.
-
I received a Bachelor of Arts from Regis University in Denver, CO in Elementary Education.
-
I received my first Master of Arts in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO.
-
I went back to Regis University for my second Master of Arts in Educational Leadership.
-
And I am continuing my education as I work toward a Doctorate in Education.
I enjoy spending my free time outdoors whenever possible: tending to our zero-scaped butterfly garden; walking our dog, Scout, around the Charles C. Winburn Park; and experiencing the wonder and beauty of our Colorful Colorado!
Although Northglenn is physically bound by geography, we have enormous potential when we continue to put people first - and by that I do mean all people. I intend on representing all people of Ward 4, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or ability. Our individual differences, perspectives, and backgrounds are critically important in helping our community move into a healthy future for everyone.
